Well it's been almost two years since I first came up with the idea for viaclay, my movable, shareable art project.
A lot has happened to me, but I'm still a potter, still working every day at my craft, and hoping to share my work with the world. I tried college, and found the lack of focus of that experience very frustrating. I've realized that I need to be making every day, and that the balance on the wheel is the balance in my life. Looking back, I've very proud of the viaclay project and the ideas behind it -- as I learn about the commercial side of running a pottery and selling my work, I try to keep on sharing and educating people about the importance of creativity.
Everyone I met that day on Michigan Avenue remains a part of my story. Viaclay was my first real chance to explain my reasons for making pottery and my feelings about art. I'd love to do the project again, incorporating what I've learned about social media. If I launch "viaclay 2.0" I'll let you know!
The past weeks I've slacked in updating specific cup pages. But today I put my nose to the grindstone and updated every cup. As of today every photo that has been taken and posted to Instagram is connected to its cup. Also if you missed out on the viaclay installation and want to have your very own cup please take a look at my etsy.
